Did you know, it’s been 100 years of Wakefield Museums and Castles? Join Wakefield Museum’s team for a free talk looking back on 100 years of exhibitions, collecting and stories!
In 1923 Wakefield Museum first opened its doors in Holmfield House in Clarence Park.
Its displays of artwork, archaeology, natural history, world history and local stories brought in thousands of visitors a year.
100 years later and now part of a district-wide museum service with sites in Pontefract, Castleford and beyond, the Museum is planning its third move into its biggest site yet.
