Andy Panayi is one of those British musicians who seems to be have been around forever and played with everyone. Exceptionally gifted and skilled in performance, composition and arranging, he plays all sizes of flutes and saxophones, and leads groups both jazz and classical. Based in Brighton, this is a rare solo foray to the north for an evening of spontaneous jazz creation – classic jazz standards instantly reimagined, with the aid of tonight’s highly accomplished trio.

Andy has worked, among others, with: Shirley Bassey, Elvis Costello, Jessie Norman, Georgie Fame, Abdullah Ibrahim, Helen Shapiro, Stan Tracey, Humphrey Lyttelton – and many more.

Andy Panayi – flute/saxes
