Food created fashion in the Middle Ages!


Join the Pontefract Castle team to discover how common foods gave colour to medieval clothes. Explore the different colours of food-based dyes and find out about their history.


Learn a new skill in batik and create your own food-dyed batik bag!


Please let the Pontefract Castle team know of any allergies when booking.


This workshop is designed for teenagers aged 12 to 16. Accompanying adults are welcome, but not essential.
