About
From street murals, stain glass, sculptures and wonderful Library Art collection there is much more art in Castleford than you may first think.
Join a guided walk with Castleford Civic Society to discover the visual interpretations of our history and our heritage which are all around us.
Meet at Castleford Library then meander around the town centre stopping at various points, including the Parish Church where you can also enjoy refreshments. The 90 minute walk will finish back at the Library where, in your own time, you can see tapestries, paintings and Henry Moore’s reclining figure sculpture and other work by the artist.
There is also more of Castleford’s creativity on show in Castleford Museum.
The Parish Church will be open from 10am until 4pm. This event is part of the Heritage Open Day events being held by Castleford Civic Society.
