About

From the company that brought you Calendar GirlsDirty DustingBrassed Off and The Vicar of Dibley, Theatre Royal Wakefield are proud to present Blackadder Goes Forth.

This stage adaptation, by Ian Gower and Paul Carpenter, is based on the original BBC television series created by Richard Curtis, Rowan Atkinson, Ben Elton and John Lloyd.

Set in the trenches of the First World War, Blackadder Goes Forth brings together some of the most memorable moments from the original series in one gloriously chaotic and sharply witty production. Featuring a host of much-loved characters, rapid-fire humour, and Baldrick’s infamous “cunning plans”, it promises an evening full of laughter.

Yet beneath the comedy lies a powerful and poignant story, making this adaptation as moving as it is entertaining – a timely reminder of why this classic still resonates with audiences today.

Please note, this production is suitable only for those aged 12+

This production contains projection (restricted view in upper circle), smoke/haze, mild adult language, strobe lighting, themes of war
