About

Coal. Change. Community: Photography Workshop

2024 marks the 40th anniversary of the coal miners strikes 1984-85 in an attempt to prevent colliery closures. The resulting landscapes, with changed topographies and collapsed mines were reclaimed by nature. Many of these former coal mining sites were later given a helping hand and rewilded into nature reserves, and some of the most successful rewilding projects in the UK.

Join Empath Action CIC and Susan Cross for a quick photography workshop at Anglers Country Park! Dive into the heart of nature, capture stunning moments through your lens with ace photographer Nick Singleton, and unleash your inner shutterbug – all for free!

Connect with like-minded people , learn new skills, and immerse yourself in the beauty of the outdoors. This is a completely free activity, and we will provide cameras!

Please note, these workshops are aimed at people aged 55+.
