About
Calling all future chemists!
Did you know that there are so many amazing colours that can be created from plants?
Join the Pontefract Castle team for a series of workshops to investigate natural dyes, inks and stains. Be inspired by the medieval garden and the plants that were grown there in the past. Try a new technique in every session!
These STEM workshops are funded by the Royal Society of Chemistry.
17 February 2025: Learn about anthotype photography. Discover some of the first types of photography by creating prints from the sun and natural stains.
Further sessions on 7 April 2025, 27 May 2025, 11 August 2025 and 18 August 2025 will be available to book at a later date.
*At 10am on each date there is a relaxed SEND session of this workshop.
SEND groups are always welcome at all sessions, but these SEND sessions are run for visitors who benefit from a more relaxed atmosphere.
