Join Lakeside Creative Arts Centre for a relaxed and creative session where you’ll design and hand stitch your own colourful piece of textile jewellery. This inspiring workshop explores simple hand embroidery and embellishment techniques, using a variety of recycled and mixed media materials to create a brooch that’s full of personality and texture.
You will be guided step-by-step through the process by artist, Jessica Grady. Jessica will demonstrate how to layer fabrics and incorporate found and recycled materials to add shape, colour and dimension to your design. You’ll learn accessible stitching techniques that can be adapted to suit your own creative style. Whether you’re completely new to embroidery or looking to expand your skills, this workshop is suitable for all abilities.
All materials and refreshments will be provided. There there will be plenty of inspiration and support throughout the workshop and by the end of the session, you’ll leave with your own beautifully embellished, one-of-a-kind brooch — a unique handmade accessory to wear or gift.
