About

Jon Braganza owner of York Minster Antiques presents this talk and demonstration at the Magistrates Market on the cultural and religious influences on gold and silver through the ages.

Last year, Jon hosted a charismatic presentation, specifically on silver from the Georgian period onwards, and on his personal journey, which wasn’t always in this sector.

For 2023, he takes a different tack covering the crafts involved in gold and silver-making across Europe. We will see the way gold and silver were viewed in Biblical times, and other influences such as Christian, Islamic, Vedic, Scandinavian, Latin and via small communities with big influencers.

The Magistrates Market has a lift.

Organised by Pontefract Civic Society.
