Pianists Emma Abbate and Julian Perkins bring their extensive repertoire of music to Wakefield for a piano duet recital, courtesy of the Wakefield Concert Society.
Described as ‘an amazingly talented pianist’ by Musica, Emma Abbate performs with many of the leading singers and instrumentalists of her generation. Based in London, Emma is a professor at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, a staff coach at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, and has taught at the Verbier Festival Academy.
As of December 2022, Julian Perkins is Artistic Director of the Portland Baroque Orchestra in Oregon, USA. Based in the UK, he is also Artistic Director of Cambridge Handel Opera and Sounds Baroque. Shortlisted for the 2021 Gramophone Award, he performs regularly at the Salzburg Festival, has directed the Academy of Ancient Music and featured as soloist in concertos with groups including the Royal Northern Sinfonia, Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, Florilegium and Orchestra of The Sixteen.
