Join photographer David Lindsay for this one-off workshop exploring the challenges and possibilities of photographing neon.
Specialising in digital photography, Lindsay has worked closely with artist and Neon Workshops founder Richard William Wheater for over 10 years, capturing the often elusive neon form through his lens.
Working with Fred Tschida’s hypnotic sculptures in our gallery you will learn how to use long exposure techniques to capture the kinetic movement of the works, transforming them from an outline observed by the human eye to a three-dimensional form that can only be captured with the aid of a camera.
In addition to learning the technical aspects of long exposure photography, you will be guided through the process of “painting with light” to create abstract, evocative and playful photographs.
“USING A CAMERA TIME EXPOSURE THE ROTATING NEON… [COMPLETES ITS] ORBIT TO MAKE VISIBLE THE BEAUTIFULLY LUMINOUS PATH”
– Fred Tschida
