About
Do you know why the suffragists chose red, white and green colours? What do you know of the Great Pilgrimage of 1913? Let Round Our Way team tell you!
Florence Beaumont enabled ALL women in Great Britain to have the right the vote in 1928. Find out how she did this and how she overcame the obstacles in her path, put there by the political elite of the day.
Florence Beaumont lived, for a time, at Hatfeild Hall in Stanley, now the home of Normanton Golf Club. The team’s latest blue plaque, celebrating Florence Beaumont, Gwendoline Beaumont and Millicent Fawcett was recently installed at Hatfeild Hall.
Join the team on this walk to hear stories of these three pioneering feminists told as you walk around Wakefield, visiting other sites known to the women along with photos, audio and in the inimitable style of the Round Our Way team.
If you missed out on the opportunity to join Hatfeild Hall for the blue plaque celebration event this is your chance to hear those stories, along with photos and anecdotes.
And they’ll be sure to add in other snippets of interest, our Forgotten Women were all so well connected.
