About

It’s back! The Rhubarb Festival’s legendary food and drink market returns for three delicious days from 16 – 18 February.

Tantalise your taste buds with a selection of fantastic food and drink from over 50 traders, with local and regional delights to suit every palate (and most of them with a rhubarb twist!).

If you’ve got a sweet tooth, you’ll be in your element. The market’s got handmade chocolates from the Yorkshire Chocolatier, a selection of toffees, fudges and truffles from Johnson’s Toffees and indulgent cheesecakes from Simply Cheesecake and so much more.

Cheese anyone? You’re spoilt for choice, with traders like The Great British Cheese Co and and The Cheese Cavern bringing cheeses from all over to Wakefield.

There’s a whole host of tipples on offer. Let Isaac Poad, Retro Shots and Rhucello tempt you with their selection of heavenly liqueurs. Then there’s an array of gins from Whitby Distillery, Fox Gins and Forged Spirits, and beer from (where else?) Bier Huis.

Meat-eaters can get their teeth round an assortment of pies, pasties and rolls from H Hoffmann & Sons and Allums Butchers and a gourmet range of British game from Sizzlers Prime Meats.

And if you’re going plant-based, never fear La Focaccia and Little Box Kitchen are all serving up scrumptious vegan and vegetarian goodies.

It simply wouldn’t be Rhubarb Fest without E Oldroyds & Sons, so drop by their chalet and pick up some pies, crumbles, jams, chutneys… and (of course) some fresh forced rhubarb, to take home and whip up your very own rhubarb creations (perhaps you can pick up some inspiration from our chefs demos…).

The market runs from 10am – 5pm on Friday and Saturday, and 10am – 4pm on Sunday.
