About

It’s back! The Rhubarb Festival’s legendary food and drink market returns for three delicious days from 17-19 February.

Tantalise your taste buds with a selection of fantastic food and drink from over 60 traders, with local and regional delights to suit every palate (and most of them with a rhubarb twist!).

If you’ve got a sweet tooth, you’ll be in your element. The market’s got handmade chocolates from Cocoa Drop, hand-cut fudge from Forever Fudge, gourmet marshmallows from Malvavisco, artisan brownies from The Gourmet Brownie Company and so much more.

Wine and cheese anyone? You’re spoilt for choice, with traders like Cryer & Stott and The Cheeseboard bringing cheeses from all over the world to Wakefield, while Luddenden Valley Wines is on hand to serve up the perfect accompaniment.

If wine’s not your thing, there’s a whole host of other tipples on offer. Let Rhucello, Howey Nichols and Retro Shots tempt you with their selection of heavenly liqueurs. Then there’s cider from Gwatkins, rum from Two Lasses Spirits, gin from Forged Spirits, and beer from (where else?) Bier Huis.

Meat-eaters can get their teeth round an assortment of pies, pasties and rolls from Hofmanns of Wakefield and Allums Butchers, a gourmet range of British game from Sizzlers Prime Meats, and a selection of German salami from Continental Cottage.

And if you’re going plant-based, never fear La Focaccia, MoodyMare Patisserie and Little Box Kitchen are all serving up scrumptious vegan and vegetarian goodies.

It simply wouldn’t be Rhubarb Fest without E Oldroyds & Sons, so drop by their chalet and pick up some pies, crumbles, jams, chutneys… and (of course) some fresh forced rhubarb, to take home and whip up your very own rhubarb creations (perhaps you can pick up some inspiration from our chefs demos…).

The market runs from 10am – 5pm on Friday and Saturday, and 10am – 4pm on Sunday.
