LIQUORICE FEST @ Pontefract Castle
The Big Family Picnic

Pontefract Liquorice Festival in the Valley Gardens

Take a break from trawling the stalls of the Liquorice Festival market and head to Pontefract’s hidden oasis – the Friarwood Valley Gardens. There’s loads for kids to do including having a go on the bouncy castle, watching Punch & Judy and taking a donkey ride! Find out more here.

This beautiful exhibition of banners was produced by Two Destination Language, local creators and refugees and asylum seekers. The banners express the theme of hope bringing together people from the district and those from afar.

Starting point at Pontefract Castle, The Lodge Castle Chain
Paul Cartwright from the Pontefract Civic Society will deliver a guided tour around Pontefract, telling the history of how liquorice was an important part of the town and its community. Find out more here.
