The story-phone from Hello, Can You Hear Me? visit Pontefract Castle from Friday 13th December to Wednesday 8th January (accessible during the Castle open times – please see below for details).


The phone features ten tales from Wakefield District designed to entertain you with unique folk stories (and some historical ones) from times gone by…


Discover the Horbury Boggart, the giant Padfoot of Upton, giants, epic battles and stories of love and loss.


It’s time to re-connect with tales once told around the fireplace in the dark of the night.

This project is funded with a Culture Grant by Wakefield Council as part of Our Year – Wakefield District 2024.



VISITOR CENTRE AND GIFT SHOP:


Monday & Tuesday: Closed


Wednesday – Sunday: 10am – 4pm


Pontefract Castle gift shop will be closed from Monday 23 December to Wednesday 1 January. It will reopen at 10am on Thursday 2 January.
