About

Step back in time to a medieval kitchen and discover what people ate in the historic Pontefract Castle.

Mix up authentic medieval recipes then cook them in the replica medieval bread oven – just as castle cooks once did!

Bring history to life through smell, taste and shared experience.

This workshop is designed for teenagers aged 12 to 16. Accompanying adults are welcome, but not essential.

Please let the Castle team know of any allergies when booking.

This activity is part of the Heritage for Youth programme, where teenagers can get hands-on with history through interactive workshops.

£3 per teen, accompanying adults free but not essential.
