Get hands-on with nature – medieval style, in this Heritage for Youth: Willow weaving workshop at Pontefract Castle!
Discover how natural materials were used in historic castles. Explore their purpose in food, tools and everyday life.
Learn new crafting techniques and use eco-friendly materials to transform willow rods into striking fish sculptures.
No experience needed – just imagination and a willingness to try something new.
This workshop is designed for teenagers aged 12 to 16. Accompanying adults are welcome, but not essential.
This activity is part of Wakefield Museums and Castles’ Heritage for Youth programme, where teenagers can get hands-on with history through interactive workshops.
£3 per teen, accompanying adults free but not essential.
