About
Learn how the Lister Kaye family took a huge gamble on a new mineral line to take the coal to market, which was a feat of engineering to overcome the steep inclines and declines but ensured the growth of the family business and the building of new social ties between the local communities. Enjoy the shades, sights and sounds of the countryside around and beyond the National Coal Mining Museum in this entertaining two-hour circular heritage walk, down local roads and country lanes (with some inclines).
“I would definitely recommend the Heritage walk around the mining museum: a lovely walk in beautiful countryside and learning something whilst doing it. Paul and Colin were both really knowledgeable and kept the group at a pace that was comfortable for everyone. In fact, we enjoyed it so much the first time we did it, we came back to do it again with a different set of friends.” – Gillian Caldicott
