Join the Inclusive Sports Festival 2024: Promoting Disability and Mixed-Ability Sports in Our District!

This exciting new initiative is dedicated to promoting, developing, and enhancing sports and physical activity opportunities for individuals with disabilities and mixed abilities in our district. A second event will take place on the 15 September at Featherstone Sports Complex. Find out more here.

The unforgettable event, at Thornes Park Stadium, will offer many sports taster sessions including:

  • bowls

  • tennis

  • basketball

  • horse riding

  • football

  • rugby

  • self defence

  • boxing

  • and much more!

This event is designed to offer hands-on experiences and demonstrations, encouraging everyone to join in and fostering a more inclusive sporting community.

At the event, you can explore a variety of sports and activities through taster sessions led by expert partners.

Watch demonstrations, ask questions, and find out more about the sports or clubs that interest you.

The sports providers will be on hand to give you all the information you need to get involved regularly.

The festival is all about breaking down barriers and creating a welcoming environment where everyone can enjoy the benefits of physical activity, regardless of ability.

The event organisers strive to make their events as accessible and inclusive as possible, though they recognise that individual needs may vary. If you have any concerns or specific accessibility requirements, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with them for more detailed information and to discuss how they can best accommodate you.
