Drawn To Nature
Wednesday 16 September, 10am – 12pm
Join artist Tony Wade for a chance to creatively document the plants and landscapes that can be found on the country park.
In this session you will explore Frickley Country Park and be introduced to a range of drawing materials and processes, with Tony as your guide. Within the session you will have the opportunity to create your own art inspired by the natural areas you explored.
This is an outdoor activity which includes a short walk, so please dress accordingly.

Drawn To Heritage
Wednesday 16 September, 1pm – 3pm
Join artist Tony Wade as he leads a short walk to show how nature has transformed these former colliery sites.
Using a range of drawing materials provided, you will create your own art showing how nature and industry have combined to create these unique landscapes.
This is an outdoor activity which includes a short walk, so please dress accordingly.

Willow Weaving
Tuesday 29 September, 11am – 2pm
Join Eve from Nature Felt Crafts, who will be showing you how to weave art using willow that grows abundantly in the area.
In this session you will learn the art of willow weaving, creating pieces for your home or garden. You will use a natural material to create art inspired by the nature found on the country park.
Guidance will be given in the session, so no experience is required.
The session will be held outdoors on the country park, so please dress for the weather.

Mosaic Making
Friday 16 October, 10am – 12pm
In this session, you will explore how to create beautiful artwork using mosaics. This will involve cutting tiles of a variety of colour and piecing them together to create your own unique piece of art. You will be able to use the surrounding Country Park as inspiration for your work.
This workshop takes place at Frickley Athletic Football Ground.
Art in Nature
Thursday 22 October, 11am – 2pm
This session offers participants time to slow down, notice the landscape and respond through accessible, process-led creative activities.
Participants will be guided on a gentle nature connection walk encouraging mindful engagement with the local environment, inviting participants to explore seasonal changes, colour, texture, pattern, natural forms and collect fallen leaves etc.
Once settled in our outdoor space, participants begin with a series of short, guided mixed media and printmaking activities inspired by their observations. These accessible exercises introduce creative techniques while encouraging playful experimentation and personal expression. You will have the opportunity to make your own pieces to take home.
The session will be held outdoors on the country park, including a short walk, so please dress accordingly.

Lino Printing
Friday 23 October, 10am – 12pm
The process of lino printing involves carving a design into lino and painting over the design with ink or paint before transferring it to a sheet of paper. This technique allows you to transfer your unique carved image onto paper or card.

Needle Felting
Wednesday 18 November, 11am – 2pm
Join Eve from Nature Felt Crafts, who will be showing you how to create your own art using the technique of needle felting.
Come along to a relaxing and creative workshop where you’ll learn the beautiful art of needle felting and create your own unique landscape picture. Using soft, colourful wool fibres and simple felting techniques, you’ll transform layers of wool into a stunning scene inspired by nature.
