About

Molly Rymer brings her six‑piece band to WX, with support from Romy Taylor and Lola Simms as part of Launchpad’s emerging artist showcase.

Molly Rymer

Leeds-based independent musician Molly Rymer – “a grandma in a 20-something’s body” -writes like a conversation in song, blending classic-rock roots with Lizzy McAlpine-style vulnerability. Her debut EP All You Can Eat (2024) marked her shift from solo act to a cinematic six-piece setup. With her first full-band studio releases arriving in 2026, Molly has spent the past year building momentum and community, gaining support from Launchpad Music, Help Musicians (including Chris Difford’s renowned songwriting retreat), The Dunwells, and Zach Lount (King No-One) as she works toward her debut UK tour.

Romy Taylor

“A unique pop artist with her own spin on jazz, soul, and heart-felt ballads.”

Romy Taylor is an independent, Leeds-based vocalist and songwriter whose music sits at the intersection of alt-pop and contemporary jazz. Drawing inspiration from artists such as Lianne La Havas, Björk and Lucy Rose, her sound is characterised by expressive vocals, introspective song writing, and a fluid, genre-blending approach. With roots in southern Spain, Romy’s heritage subtly informs her musical identity, influencing her melodic sensibilities and style both in the studio and on stage.

Within the last 14 months Romy has sold out 2 headliner shows in Leeds and packed out various other venues including the Brudenell, Belgrave Music Hall and Canteen, the Wardrobe and The Attic. Festival appearances include We Out Here Festival, The Brudenell Piano Sessions, Leeds Jazz Festival, Live at Leeds and Main Stage at Humber Street Sesh. Her singles ‘Nectarine’ and ‘Momentum’ were acclaimed on Spotify’s “Fresh Finds UK & IE” playlist.

Lola Simms

Lola Simms is an independent singer/songwriter originally from Hexham in the North East of England. Lola has released two EP’s consisting of original material which can be found on Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer, Pandora and so on.
