Put on your wellies or walking boots and join the Canal & River Trust on a family wildlife hunt at Castleford Lock and see what amazing wildlife you can spot along our beautiful network of canals – wildlife identification sheets / booklets provided.
Getting here:
Please meet us at Castleford Lock (what three words: ///battle.copies.rams) just off Barnsdale Road.
Public Transport:
- Buses: 163 Sapphire , 168 Sapphire and 175 bus routes will take you to bus stops nearby
- Train: Castleford station is approximately a 20 minute walk to Castleford Lock
Please book one time slot per person and arrive no more than 15 minutes before your booked slot. These sessions are designed for adults and for children as an introduction to walking and are easy grade along our amazing towpaths. Learn a bit of history or see some awesome wildlife which is around every turn on our waterways .
Parents and guardians are required to accompany their children on this walk.
