Join the Canal & River Trust on a wildlife / nature themed photography walk where you’ll be guided along our footpath whilst spotting wildlife and enjoying the benefits that being in green and blue spaces can bring! All whilst taking photographs with your camera device! During the walk you will be supplied some basic hints and tips on how to capture photos.


Please feel free to bring whatever camera device you have – cameraphones, smartphones, digital cameras etc.


** Please don’t forget your layers of clothes (and waterproofs just in case of rain) to keep you warm and some suitable footwear **


Getting here:


Please meet us at Knottingley Amphitheatre (what three words: ///mast.survivor.bliss) just off Hill Top Road.


Public Transport:



  • Buses: 148, 149, 406 and 476 bus routes will take you to bus stops nearby

  • Train: Knottingley Train station is approximately a 15 minute walk to Knottingley Amphitheatre


Please book one time slot per person and arrive no more than 15 minutes before your booked slot. These sessions are designed for adults and for children as an introduction to walking and are easy grade along our amazing towpaths. Learn a bit of history or see some awesome wildlife which is around every turn on our waterways .


Parents and guardians are required to accompany their children on this walk.




This February Half term the Canal & River Trust are running a selection of fun, family-friendly activities on our Aire and Calder navigation, including a Family Nature Walk & Litterpick at Knottingley Amphitheatre and a Family Wildlife Hunt at Castleford Lock.
