Parking

There are numerous off-street and on-street car parking spaces in Castleford Town Centre.

From Monday 17 November visitors can enjoy up to two hours of free parking in all Council-owned off-road long-stay car parks!

Train

Castleford Station

It is an approximately 5 minute walk from Castleford Train Station to Castleford Town Centre.

The Events Team at Wakefield Council are passionate about providing an enjoyable experience that is accessible to all.  

Our friendly team of staff, security, first aiders and contractors will be on hand to offer any assistance throughout the event.  You can find them in either Hi-Vis or Wakefield Council Uniform. Look for ‘EVENT STAFF’ on their backs. 

Accessible Parking

There are blue car parking spaces at nearby Castlefields Car Park and Welbeck Street Car Park.

Accessible Toilets

There will be an accessible port-aloo available in Castleford Precinct alongside the accessible toilet in Castleford Library.

Assistance Dogs

Assistance dogs are welcome to all areas of the event.

Changing Places

Unfortunately, there is no Changing Places at the event site.

The closes Changing Places is at Junction 32 (Changing Places Toilets (changing-places.org)). 

Site Description

Castleford precinct is very flat, the area can be easily navigated around without having to cross any steps or inclines.

Carlton Street – This is the main festival site and where most activities will take place, the street is easily accessible and completely flat.

Carlton Lanes Shopping Centre – Shopping area, rest spaces, cafes, restaurants & accessible toilets.

Museum & Library – Accessible toilets. Lift to other floors available.

Should you need any form of medical attention please inform a member of staff or security onsite where they can show you where the medical tent is located or request for a medic to come to you.  

We do not have any secure storage for medicines on site.
