The illuminated parade is back for Light Up Wakefield 2026!
Created by Handmade Productions, this year’s parade ‘Nature’s Return’ will celebrating the return of wildlife to Wakefield’s rivers, meadows, moors and gardens.
Inspired by species found in the local enviornment, the parade tells the story of ecological recovery: water flowers, flowers bloom, pollinators gather and animals reappear.
Led be a towering Mother Nature figure, glowing creatures emerge from the darkness, transoforming the city into a magical celebration of nature’s beauty and power.
Bring your friends, wrap up warm, and be part of this magical celebration of light, creativity and community spirit.
