Festive cheer descends upon the Cathedral precinct this November with 3 days of activities for all. Start your Christmas shopping early with a speciality market showcasing Yorkshire craft, indulge in tasty treats with at the festive food hub with a covered, heated seating area, and enjoy street entertainment including Ghost Caribou, plus the first showing of STILL, the stunning “light artwork” projection by acclaimed creative projection studio Novak, with score co-written and performed by the Youth Choir of Wakefield Cathedral, and the switching on of the city’s Christmas Lights.


Light Up partners Wakefield BID, Trinity Walk and Wakefield Cathedral will also be delivering activities throughout the weekend including face painting, fun fair rides, pilates, choirs, live entertainment and music from community groups and local artists as well as children’s craft activities, stained glass tours and lantern making workshops.


The Christmas lights will be switched on on stage at 5:45pm on Friday 19 November, hosted by Rhubarb Radio.
