Long Division Festival are running YoungTeam Taster sessions this February Half Term.
You can choose between one, some, or all of the workshops and learn creative music skills from professionals.
Workshop #1 – Introduction to live tech | 9:30am – 11:30am
Andy Pickersgill, music technician mastermind, teaches you how to set up bands, sound desks, lighting rigs, mics and more. Try out the equipment and tech a real musician.
Workshop #2 – Song-writing your way | 12pm – 2pm
Work with professional musicians Jack Williams and Jack Askew to experiment with new ways of making the songs you really want to make.
Workshop #3 – Making podcasts with Pete from Rhubarb Radio | 2:15pm – 4:15pm
Learn how to record and produce a mini radio show using your smart phone.
Workshop #4 – Zine Making Workshop | 10am – 4pm, drop in
Creating booklets, posters, book covers, album/EP covers depending on your choice. We will use a selection traditional zine making techniques such as collage, drawing, writing and redaction. Open between 10am-4pm, participants are welcome to drop in at whatever time suits and stay for as long as you like.

These Long Division YoungTeam Taster sessions are free of charge. However, if you want to make a donation to support Long Division’s work with young people, of between £1 – £10, you can do so in cash on the day, or by bank transfer in arrangement with Paul Bateson.
Everyone is invited to stay through the day until the end, and we are hoping we can stage an informal sharing from 4:15pm, until about 4:45pm, tech-ers to tech, musicians to play, and podcasters to record.
