The Wall is a changing display at WX Wakefield Exchange that celebrates creatives from across the Wakefield district, this Autumn they’ve welcomed artist Helen Thomas!
Come along to their Meet the Artist event where you can meet Helen and find out more about her work and practice – she will also have artwork available to purchase!
Helen Thomas is a painter who works from a studio at The Art House, Wakefield. Her paintings draw attention to often overlooked plants that grow in urban spaces. Helen usually paints with acrylics on paper and board. Her paintings range from the size of a postcard to large-scale pieces. Helen exhibits nationally. In 2025, Huddersfield Art Gallery curated Helen’s solo exhibition ‘No patch of green too small’ at the University of Huddersfield. One of Helen’s paintings was recently acquired for Manchester Art Gallery’s permanent collection.
