Step into a world of intrigue at Wakefield Library with Murder in the Rhubarb Triangle, a full day dedicated to crime writing and storytelling. Bringing together a host of Yorkshire-based and visiting authors, the festival offers an engaging programme of panel discussions, author insights and opportunities to meet the writers behind the mysteries.
Book a ticket for all day (10am to 3:30pm) or book on to the individual author panels taking place throughout the day.

10:15am | First Crimes with Nick Boreham, John Clewarth and Barry N Rainsford
Debut crime novelist Nick Boreham, whose Jurymen May Dine draws on real jury experience, appears alongside Yorkshire storyteller John Clewarth, author of spooky and suspenseful fiction, and social crime writer Barry Rainsford, known for thrillers including All The Dead Men Lie.
11:15am | An Alternative World of Crime with Fiona Veitch-Smith, Lucy Brighton, Steven Burton, Jason Monaghan and Michael Yates
Award‑shortlisted historical crime writer Fiona Veitch Smith, creator of the Poppy Denby and Clara Vale mysteries, joins Lucy Brighton, Steven Burton, Jason Monaghan and Michael Yates, authors exploring imaginative and genre‑blending approaches to crime fiction.
12:15pm | How Crime Looks with Bob Bridgestock, Carol Bridgestock and Pamela Clare
Former senior detective Bob Bridgestock, co-author of the DI Jack Dylan series, appears with co-writer Carol Bridgestock and makeup artist Pamela Clare.
1:15pm | Police Procedurals with Linda Jones, Geoff Major, Jack Parkes and Ian Walker
Linda Jones, Geoff Major, Jack Parkes and Ian Walker come together as authors known for their procedural crime fiction, focusing on the realities of investigation and policing.
2:15pm | The Sound of Crime with Catherine Yaffe, Wes Markin and Aubrey Parsons
Harrogate-based crime writer Catherine Yaffe joins bestselling DCI Yorke series author Wes Markin and audiobook narrator Aubrey Parsons, the voice behind many of Markin’s novels.
