Pontefract Castle is pleased to announce a fantastic new event for 2023!


Get ready for a sensational singalong of your favourite musical hits as West End singers sing perform live at Pontefract Castle! From Frozen to Mary Poppins, Wicked to the Lion King, there’s a solo in store for all the family. Don’t be shy – Let it Go with tasty treats from fantastic local street food traders. It’s going to be Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!


Bring your own low backed chairs or rugs and settle down for an afternoon to remember. Food and drink will be available to buy on the day.


Concert starts at 2.30pm and ends at 4.30pm. Gates open 12.30pm.


Tickets: £16 Adults and £7.50 Child (5-16y) plus booking fee.


Under 5s free.


Please ensure you have a valid ticket before arriving at the event. Tickets will not be available on the day.

Performers:


Simona Budd


Simona is a musician who has worked predominantly as a Musical Director and Keyboard player. She has worked on shows including Dreamgirls, Heathers the Musical, The Producers, and Grease.


Zoё Curlett


Zoё hails from Cheshire and has worked on several West End shows including Cosette in Les Misérables, and Christine in the Phantom of the Opera. Other credits include the European tour of Cats, Carousel, South Pacific and Aladdin.


Nic Greenshields


Nic has worked on the West End and across the country in shows such as Beauty and the Beast, Miss Saigon, Les Misérables, Phantom of the Opera, Guys and Dolls, Annie, My Fair Lady and many more!


Paul Monaghan


Paul has performed in several West End shows including Mary Poppins, the Musical, Cats, Aspects of Love, Les Misérables, Phantom of the Opera, The Music of Andrew Lloyd Webber, Sweeney Todd, and Jesus Christ Superstar.


Sophia Ragavelas


Born in Essex, Sophia has spent over 20 years in the West End, fifteen of those as a leading lady, Nationally and Internationally. Lead roles have included Les Misérables, Mamma Mia, Cats, and West Side Story.

Can tickets be purchased on the night? Tickets will not be available on the night


Can I bring my dog? No dogs allowed except assistance dogs. Please ensure that they are comfortable with fireworks.


What time does the event start? Gates open from 12.30pm, concert starts at 2.30pm, concert finishes at approximately 4.30pm


Do you offer refunds? Tickets are non-refundable, the show will go on whatever the weather, please be prepared.


Are refreshments available? There will be food and drink available to buy on the night, but you are welcome to bring a picnic and alcohol. No BBQ’s permitted. Please drink responsibly and take home any litter.


Is there any seating? Please bring your own low backed seats. Large umbrellas or tents are not allowed.


Is the event outdoors? The event takes place outdoors on the main grassed area of the castle and will take place whatever the weather. Please note that large umbrellas or shelters are not allowed.


Where can I park? Please use town centre car parks which are mostly free after 6pm. Further info available here.


I have a blue badge, where can I park? Limited parking for blue badge holders only is available in the castle car park WF8 2JF. Passengers may be dropped off at the top of Spink Lane but the road directly outside the castle gates will be closed for the event.


Can I smoke during the event? Smoking or vaping is not allowed in the grounds of Pontefract Castle. A smoking area will be available outside the main gates.


Will there be an interval? Yes, there will be an interval


Is there anything for children? This is a family-friendly event, so bring along your best singing voices! Children must be supervised throughout the event. Please do not bring ball games.


Why is there a booking fee? The booking fee is payable to Eventbrite to cover the costs of processing the bookings and payments. We do not benefit from this.
