About

Work with artists and enjoy playful sculpture activities in the open air for this event celebrating the Love and Hope Boat. Entry to the garden is FREE for everyone. Entry to the gallery exhibitions is FREE for Wakefield residents and under 18s.

IN THE GARDEN | FREE FOR EVERYONE

The Love and Hope Boat is inspired by the boat held aloft in the hand of The Amazonian Caiman God, symbolising the touching love story of Jason Wilsher-Mills’ parents. A retired boat from Pugneys Country Park has been upcycled for the project. Fondly dubbed ‘HMS Pugness’ by the team at Pugneys, the boat offers a chance for people to contribute artwork, inspired by love and hope, as it sets sail across the district.
