Kick start your festive season at Pontefract Museum and help celebrate the grand opening of an exciting new exhibition.   


Pontefract Museum have joined up with the St Giles with St Mary’s Pantomime Society to mark 75 years of panto in Pontefract!   


Come along to enjoy a special day of pantomime fun! Step into the gingerbread house and hang out with the stars of Hansel & Gretel. Take a seat for a special story time with costumed characters! Enjoy exclusive performances by the pantomime’s youngest stars, the Sunbeams. Get creative with fun family crafts.  


Explore the Oh, Yes It Is! exhibition to discover what goes into putting on a spectacular performance. Enjoy the sparkle of costumes and props from memorable past productions. Get dressed up and step on stage yourself!   


Event programme:


11am | Formal exhibition opening, speeches and pantomime song! 


11:30am – 3pm | Face painting* 


11:30am – 3pm | Family crafts 


11:30am | Story time with Peggy the Dame and Sunbeams performance* 


12:30pm | Story time with the witch and Sunbeams performance* 


1:30pm | Story time with Bluebell the Fairy and Sunbeams performance* 


*Please note – Entry is free and pre-booking is not required but at busy periods, places may be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
