About
Ossett Beercart is a weekend of Morris dancing, family fun and beer drinking. The weekend begins with the opening of our beer festival in Ossett Townhall on Friday evening, where a large range of beers, ciders and craft ales and lagers will be available (and even Prosecco).
Saturday starts with the Beercart procession through Ossett – a cart of barrels pulled by up to a hundred Morris dancers from around the country will make its way through parts of Ossett and into the town centre. This will be followed by the traditional Beercart dance performed by the Wakefield Morris Dancers and the re-opening of the beer festival, which then remains open for the rest of the day.
Ossett town centre will be full throughout Saturday with a market, children’s rides, food stalls, and of course the Morris dancers performing regularly throughout the town. Sunday will see a more relaxed visit by the Morris teams to a local public venue (TBC) to entertain audiences for a couple of hours before heading home.
Ossett Beercart is a fantastic start to the summer season!
