Pivotal is an art installation which encourages connection between people and the natural world. The installation was created by Wakefield artist Natalie Bellingham, with support from Brian Fell and Son Sculpture & Metalwork.

You are invited to sit on the wooden seats and gently ‘seesaw’. By working together you will find a rhythm that creates the sweetest sound from the birds. Once this balance is found, the birds sing in unison with people’s playful movements.

Pivotal brings greater awareness of our connectedness to nature and the part we need to play to nurture and care for our planet.

Pivotal has been funded as part of Festival of the Earth, led by Wakefield Council from July to October 2021 across the Wakefield district.

Open daily 10am – 3pm, except for Wednesday 29th Sept which is open from 10am-1pm.
