Our planet is changing. Wise investments will help save its future.

Joining us for WordFest 2021 to speak live at WX, Doug Allan’s legendary expertise in the Antarctic, Arctic and other extreme environments have made him a popular and charismatic speaker. His deep understanding of environmental issues, the biology of his subjects, and the psychology of film-makers make his talks engaging, educational and inspirational.

Doug talks about the challenges of filming high on the slopes of Everest, watching a polar bear emerge for the first time from her den with her cubs, diving under the ice with seals, and watching orcas hunt among the ice floes of the Antarctic. But he has also seen for himself in his 45 years of polar experience how a warming planet is affecting these regions. He throws out the challenge of how we must turn the tide on climate change through positive action, which includes investment in ground breaking technologies like renewable energy, transport, regenerative industries and thinking through the concept of “donut economics”.

This is an inspiring talk for all the family about how our finances can be harnessed to green, sustainable ventures for the benefit of the planet and future generations.

Doug Allan is one of the world’s best known and respected BAFTA award-winning cameramen, whose TV credits include classic BBC series Blue Planet, Planet Earth, Life, Human Planet, Ocean Giants, Frozen Planet and Secrets of our Living Planet.
