Enjoy free live music at the Castle every Sunday in August, 12 noon to 2pm.
Sunday 6 August: Brad Jack
Brad is a Pontefract lad playing folk influenced pop. His debut album was released in 2022, and several of the songs from it have been played on the BBC. You can follow him at instagram.com/bradjackt
Sunday 13 August: Bisto Boys
A group of old fellas with a love for old fashioned music. Bisto Boys have a fresh lively sound that will take you back in time to happy days.
Sunday 20 August: Honey Trap
Originally from Leicestershire, Owen, Aiden and Ben are Honeytrap. Their debut single was released in 2020 and generated 50k streams. You can follow them at instagram.com/honeytrapsounds
Sunday 27 August: Martín Berger and Jacob Harrison
Martín Berger is an Argentinian woodwinds player, composer, arranger, performer and educator. His music navigates between traditions, styles and genres: from popular to academic, to contemporary, through folkloric traditions around the world, jazz, free improvisation, experimental and even electronic compositions. His current project focuses on Brazilian choro, samba and Argentinian tango. His music is available to listen at soundcloud.com/martinberger
Martín is supported by his friend Jacob Harrison. Jacob is a classical guitarist and composer who writes spell-binding and highly virtuosic works for the solo classical guitar, film, theatre and his duo with saxophonist Martín. Coming from a classical guitar background, Jacob’s tree of influence is rooted in the music of Spain and South America. He explores flamenco, Brazilian choro, tango and beyond.
