Pontefract Choral Society Taster Concert

Hosted by Pontefract Civic Society, ‘Follow the Yellow Brick Road‘ is a FREE 45 minute taster concert from Pontefract Choral Society followed by light refreshments.

Pontefract Choral Society, formed in 1874, has had a long and successful history. It aims to make choral music readily accessible to the wider community through live concerts, and to provide the opportunity for local people to develop their musical skills.

Come skip along the Yellow Brick Road with Pontefract Choral Society as they perform a Choral Medley from The Wizard of Oz. Find out who ‘Sings In Sleep To Me’, which voice ‘Calls my Name’ and who, together with his dream coat, is ahead of his time, in a Concert Celebration of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s most popular songs. You will also hear music from British contemporary composers such as John Rutter, Howard Goodall and Joanna Forbes L’Estrange along with a choral classic from Haydn.

The concert is in the Nelson Room on the first floor of Pontefract Town Hall.
