Join Pontefract Civic Society’s Derek Norfolk to go back in time at Pontefract Park.

Meet at the “pepperpot” building for a walk inside Pontefract Racecourse circuit, which highlights a brief history of the park (including its link with Royalty, the castle, horse racing and its reduction in size).

It considers the events and activities which took place associated with both World Wars, and aspects of nature in Pontefract Park.

Suitable footwear essential for varied surfaces, and the route is not accessible for those with mobility issues. Please meet at the pepperpot 5 minutes before the start time. Walk-ins accepted, though pre-booking is helpful.
