A guided walk, by Pontefract Civic Society, with information about its WWI and WWII connections, the history of the park and reference to nature in the park.
A socially distanced walk inside Pontefract Racecourse circuit, which highlights a brief history of the park (including its link with Royalty, the castle, horse racing and its reduction in size) and it considers the events and activities which took place associated with both World Wars, and aspects of nature in Pontefract Park.
Meet next to the 'Pepperpot'/race results building (see photograph above) in the Park. Meet 10 minutes prior to the commencement of the walk.
Maximum 10 people per session. Approximate 1 hour dependent upon the weather and underfoot conditions, suitable clothes and footwear are advisable.
