About

Meet the artist Ann McCall in this workshop at Queen’s Mill Castleford. Ann McCall works from her home studio in Wakefield. Much of her work involves capturing the unique features, characteristics and qualities evident in industrial, historic and civic buildings. The theme “Civic Pride” features in many of her works.

Participants in this workshop will get the opportunity to see and discuss Ann’s work in person. The morning session will be spent working with Ann to develop detailed, close-up features from her paintings, using a range of dry media techniques, before having a guided tour of the mill where you will take photographs. In the afternoon, with Ann’s guidance, you will develop work from your own photos, using the techniques explored earlier.

This is a free workshop and all materials are provided.

Participants will need to bring their mobile phone or tablet so they can capture features of the historic building during the tour.

We will take a lunch break during the workshop so participants can bring a packed lunch or head out to get some refreshments.

The workshop is free and booking is essential. Phone 01977 556 741 for more information and to book.
