About
Remnants Of The Past is a photographic exhibition created by second-year photography students from the University of Huddersfield, bringing together personal memory, place and identity through visual storytelling.
The exhibition invites visitors to reflect on the feeling of nostalgia — whether it’s found in a faded family photograph, a childhood toy, or the familiar glow of a streetlamp close to home. Each image explores how memories linger, how identities are shaped, and how shared experiences can connect generations.
This professionally presented exhibition has been carefully developed as part of the students’ academic work, blending technical skill with emotional storytelling. While photography sits at the heart of the exhibition, Remnants Of The Past goes beyond images alone, offering a space to pause, reflect, and reconnect with moments that may feel distant but never truly disappear.
Taking place inside The Ridings Shopping Centre, the exhibition brings contemporary photography into a public space, making art accessible while celebrating shared histories and everyday nostalgia.
