It’s back! The Rhubarb Festival’s legendary food and drink market returns for three delicious days at WX Wakefield Exchange and the Cathedral Precinct.




Free Daytime Activities


Rebarbara by Fenyszoro Visual


Friday 20 – Sunday 22 February | 10am-4pm


Immerse yourself in the magical world of Rhubarb with this dazzling psychedelic projection artwork from Fényszóró Visual (Lightspray Visual).


Fényszóró Visual are an artist group from Hungary whose work uses upgraded overhead projectors and kinetic machines to create incredible visuals. Their fantastical works have been seen at light festivals across the globe (including Light Up Wakefield 2024!)


Kids Craft Zone 


Friday 20 – Sunday 22 February | 10am-4pm


Children can get crafty with rhubarb themed activities – make a rhubarb crown and grab a snap in front of the selfie station, or why not make a kaleidoscope and explore the magical rhubarb projection in more detail?


Face Painting


Friday 20 – Sunday 22 February | 11am-4pm


Free face painting will be available at WX all weekend!




Chef Demos


Friday 20 – Sunday 22 February | 11am, 12pm, 1pm, 2pm, 3pm – each demo will last 45 minutes.


A fantastic mix of talented local chefs and well‑known culinary names from across the country take to the demo stage! Demonstrations run every day from 11am at WX’s The Factory (the building beside the main hall).


Each exciting demo lasts 45 minutes—plenty of time to discover new techniques, gather top tips, and be inspired. Whether you’re a budding home cook or a seasoned foodie, there’s something sizzling for everyone. Come along and taste the experience!
