Castleford was founded 2000 years ago as an important strategic Roman fort on the crossing of the River Aire. Today this Roman heritage is largely hidden.
One to One Development Trust have worked with Wakefield Museums and Castles, Castleford Civic Society and Castleford Heritage Trust to create a new digital platform that brings the important Roman Castleford story to life.
Explore the architecture of the Roman Bathhouse, Fort and Vicus, and discover hidden objects from the Castleford Museum collection, recreated in a digital world. Meet an AI Roman soldier or try on an AI Roman helmet.
