The 2024 racing season at Pontefract Racecourse kicks off on Tuesday 2nd April.


The season opener is sure to be a great day out for the family with plenty of Easter surprises in store!


On the track, it’s the first leg of the 2024 Stayers Championship! Which Ponte favourite will add their name to the roll of honour?


Don’t miss the EBF High-Rise Maiden either! With smart early horses from big yards often targeting it, it’s the first date to put in the diary! The race is named after Luca Cumani’s 1998 Derby winner who took this race on his way to glory at Epsom.


Tickets for the Season Opener can be purchased in advance via the Pontefract Racecourse website or on the day at the gate, both cash and card accepted. Under 18’s go free.
