Easter Tuesday Season Opener

The 2026 racing season at Pontefract Racecourse kicks off with the season opener on Tuesday 7 April.

Enjoy an action packed afternoon of racing with seven races on the card to enjoy. Alongside the thrill of the racing, there will be a range of children’s entertainment on the day, including face painting, a circus workshop and arts and crafts!

Hospitality options are plentiful and include bespoke business packages, private boxes and shared facilities.

Tickets can be purchased in advance via the Pontefract Racecourse website or on the day at the gate, both cash and card accepted.

U18s race FREE! This applies to every enclosure on every race day. There are discounts available for OAPs, Blue Light Card Holders and Students, as well as for advance bookings.

There is step-free access to all of the enclosures and lifts giving access to all floors in the stands.  Personal assistants are admitted free of charge and there are accessible toilets in all enclosures and viewing ramps in every area.
