About
Join the National Coal Mining Museum‘s relaxed SEN friendly Stay and Play sessions! The perfect opportunity to play for your little ones, including dressing up, sensory tuft trays, a sensory dark tent, story corner, musical instruments and crafts.
Each session includes a story and nursery rhyme plus the perfect chance for adults to catch up and have a brew!
To make the sessions comfortable and relaxed the museum have:
- Low lighting levels
- Music played at a lower volume
- Ear defenders and sensory toys available
- Reduced capacity so there’s lots of space to explore
