About
‘How do we keep women safe?’
The debate continues, with the loudest answers pointing to self-defence classes, alarms, trackers and dress codes. But the conversation must shift. Women’s voices should lead it, while responsibility and accountability lie elsewhere.
She Was Walking Home is a new performance shaped from the real experiences of 33 women living, working and studying in Yorkshire. In this powerful piece of testimonial theatre, Next Door But One shares stories of fear, harassment, anger, resilience and, ultimately, hope, to ensure the right voices continue to be heard.
