Come along and join in with all the activities at the annual Silver Sunday event held at The Ridings Shopping Centre!
Aimed at offering support for our older generations there is something for everyone this year.
There will be 30 partner organisations coming and offering support and advice and some fun and free activities, foods from around the world, tastes of Africa, Asia and Europe from our local community groups. Free tasters being offered for you to try something new!
Music and Dancing from 10am in the main event space, some light exercise and the launch of the Mall Walk project as part of the Moving Festival.
Singing for the Brain will be held in the inspiring Wakefield Cathedral, delivered by Anthony and the Alzheimer’s Society. (Time TBC)
Displays of the district past with support from Wakefield Museums and Libraries.
Enjoy guided tours of the Cathedral * and the streets surrounding it to uncover what used to be there.
Tea coffee and juice available from the Time for Tea team as usual plus lots more.
As part of Our Year The Ridings are pleased to be able to widen the event to include more partners and food due to the funding received from Our Year programmes around Moving and Food.
