Soul Shed returns with another showcase of a variety of talent, both homegrown and nationally known. From poetry to music to comedy, there’s something for everyone.
Hosted by Faye Marshall (Cloth and Coal, Morley) and Tim Brookes (Under the Lobby Lights, Wakefield) this night will have you nodding, swaying, laughing and wondering when you can do it all again.
Kat Ronson
Yorkshire-born actress, comedian and poet, Kat Ronson’s greatest achievement is having a Wikifeet before a Wikipedia page. Dubbed ‘one of British comedy’s brightest new talents’ and a ‘comedy queen’. Kat has performed stand-up at Fringe Festivals across the UK and globe and sold out some of the most iconic venues in the UK. Such as Museum of Comedy and 2Northdown, leading to having her sketch show ‘The Whoreing Twenties’ at London’s prestigious West End theatre, Leicester Square Theatre. Kat also hosts her own monthly comedy-poetry show “WAP” at Manchester’s powerhouse Creatures Comedy Club. Her playful style, cold one-liners and deadpan delivery makes her a comedy force to be reckoned with!
John Devlin
Wakefield-based spoken-word performer and slam poet, John Devlin has competed in poetry slams from Northamptonshire to New Orleans. Earlier this year he won Leicester’s annual Some Antics championship slam after fending off competition from each of 2024’s other monthly winners. John has released two audio collections of poems, ‘Banging On About Stardust’ and ‘Wild Rocket Ballads’ and will shortly release his third, ‘Let Me Lure The Moon Down’.
The Beer Snobs
Formed in 2019, The Beer Snobs are a 3 piece band from Leeds performing original material with an eclectic style.
Tickets are free, and food and drinks are available to buy onsite.
