Ease into the evening with the smooth, sultry sounds of Summer Jazz with Mike Hope & Ensemble At WX – Wakefield Exchange.



Mike Hope is one of Northern England’s top tenor sax players, known for his warm tone and lyrical solos in the spirit of Lester Young, Stan Getz, and Sonny Rollins. A graduate of Leeds and North Texas Universities, he won “Northern Young Jazz Musician of the Year” in 1995 and went on to perform in the West End, with the Syd Lawrence Orchestra, and alongside the Halle and BBC Big Bands. Career highlights include appearances on The Crown and Heartbeat, soloing with the Four Tops, and performing for Judi Dench and Geri Halliwell.


Expect an eclectic set of blues, bebop, Bossa Nova, ballads and more!
