About
Alice de Lacy was nominally one of the most powerful women in 14th century England.
She was a countess in her own right and heir to the de Lacy earldoms. Yet her life was marked with suffering and pain.
Join local archaeologist Dave Weldrake at Pontefract Castle for a talk considering the life of Alice de Lacy and what it can tell us about the status of women in medieval society.
This talk is free, but booking is required.
