About
Join Textile Designer Sophie Amelia to explore screen printing surface designs onto textiles inspired by her bold and abstract patterns during this workshop at The Art House.
Starting with mark making and experimental drawing you’ll produce an abstract composition which you’ll use in the screen printing process with stencils and pre-exposed textures.
Create your own multi-layered print with finishing touches using flock and shiny foil accents. Come away with your own printed fabrics which are perfect for use as wall hangings, cushions or sewing projects.
Who is the workshop for?
This workshop is aimed at adults who are complete beginners in screen printing. Those with some previous experience may be interested to try out some new techniques and different textile finishing methods in their work.
Do I need to bring anything?
All equipment and tools will be provided but feel free to bring any inspiration images for your prints. We recommend wearing clothes that you wouldn’t mind getting messy as you will be using inks and glue! Please also wear sensible shoes with a covered toe for safety in the print studio.
